Suikoden V, I+II for psp (Konami looks to redeem itself)
Moderator: Lord Golbez
Tactics is pretty good actually, the story isn't the type of thing you'd expect from a Suikoden so don't go in thinking you're getting a new entry into the series. It's pretty the sequel to IV and actually adds more to that game's plot. Tactics is a much much better game than Suikoden IV, is a pretty damn good srpg to boot. If there was a word to describe Rhapsodia, it's fun. It's not overly challenging, but it's got difficulty. It's not too deep but it's got a good amount of depth. I suggest anyone who didn't like IV atleast give it a try.

Notice in the second scan, the blonde character next to the hero is dressed like Viktor, and there's a Teo McDohl like character in there.
On the third scan Hero's dressed all in Tir McDohl clothing.

At suikox and suikosource I made a thread for fans to enter questions/comments to to give to the King because he said in his blog they're accepting comments/questions. We voted on the questions and now SARS is going to translate it all and post it so we can have a voice. Here are the questions:
1. When will you go past Suikoden III on the timeline and why have you been avoiding it?
2. Are any of you making the story according to Murayama's wishes? Did he leave the team all of his Suikoden notes (the offiicial timeline, the ending to the series, where he wants the series to go;etc) he had made before leaving?
8. Are you planning any more side story games like the Gaidens or Rhapsodia?
9. Is there a planned release date for Suikoden I and II on the PSP for North America or Europe? Also, we've wanted Suikogaiden's I and II for the longest time. Is there a chance that we might have those as features in a limited edition release of North America and European Suikoden V? Thanks!
13. Are you already working on Suikoden VI and how far is the development of the game?
14. Is the timeline of Suikoden IV and Rhapsodia ever going to connect with the main Suikoden timeline? Right now they feel like side stories.
16. Do you visit Suikoden fans' forum to acquire their feedback?
25. I heard rumours that they are planning to release an updated Encyclopaedia from a while back. Is the project real?
27. Any plans to release Suikoden related goodies (artbooks, encyclopedia, etc.) in North America?
29. Suikoden III's Trinity Sight System was a genius way to tell a story. Are you going to use a similar plot device system in future Suikoden's? If perfected, Suikoden will have no equal.

Mental notes: There's an Obel soldier (ties with SIV seem to be actually high now), Kyle is wearing Viktor's clothes (his second costume), Rionne's second costume is revealed, Hero is wearing Tir's clothes (his THIRD costume), there's a warrior with dreadlocks akin to Bob, the artwork kicks all ass.
For those who don't see it:

The system section of the site has been updated. Here are some pics of the war system. Look at that open field: it's HUGE. No info has been revealed on the major battle/war system yet, but from the latest trailer it looks like it's real time, and similar to Suikoden I and II's battle system. We have archers again, you can charge troops;etc.
Notice there 3 different flags in these assortment of images:

Here's some info on the new duel system.

New King blog entry which is pretty damn interesting. I bolded the important stuff.

I'm really happy they're evolving such things. Duels have been the same since the original.Sorry to barge in on the data transfer discussion, but I finally got around to posting the info revealed in the latest updates. In Suikoden 5 duels, you will need to enter your command under a certain time limit. This must be the modification to the duel system they were talking about in the trailer. It will certainly make things a lot harder if you have to read your enemy in 10 seconds or something like that and act accordingly. The description says the key to winning those duels will be to be able to pass judgement in a flash and act on it. I guess it will make the duels more realistic and fast-paced.

King: There's so many characters participating in battle, eh?
Okamoto: Indeed. I can't inform of the number yet, can I?
Anyway, it's a lot.
You can have 10 member parties in Suikoden V, but deciding who to bring along can be confusing.
King: Each battle character has an individualistic weapon, and the necessary movements are plentiful, eh?
Okamoto: Yup...Normally, we'd copy the motions and arrange them to shorten production time, but even weapons of the same lineage had vastly different shapes, so it ended up that each character's animations were done from scratch.
King: Due to that, each character's personality is prominent. Thanks.
Okamoto: Not at all. Kogawa suffered much, but the results paid off.
