So like, I was in Anime Evolution 2008 (Vancouver BC) and it was rather nice. VERY nice in fact. I thought there'd be like 10% people cosplaying, but it was more like 80%.... I felt so out of place not having anything awesome on.
Um, trying to think chronologically, which ones I saw first; one of the security staff (more like volunteer but yeah) was cosplaying Snake from MSG4. He was goddamn perfect, looked like an old man even though he was young. At least I think he was young, considering how he moved... err, yeah. Anyway. There were also so many great TF2 cosplays, mostly Scouts. You could constantly see a blue/red Scout sneak up to red/blue Scout, poke with their baseball bat and shout BONK. Then run like the wind while the bonked one started running after him. All of those guys were really energetic, it kept the three-hour registeration queue a lot more interesting.
Usually when you shift through cosplay pictures there's so many terrible cosplayers but this wasn't the case there at all. That was incredible, especially considering how many of them there were. There also was no Man-Faye or anything like it, thank god. I was queued right behind an extremely well done San (Mononoke Hime). A bit behind me was a perfect Haruhi and Hinata (Naruto) pair. They did the Haruhi dance a few times as well, which makes me wonder why didn't she go for Mikuru or Yuki. Oh well, she had a perfect Hinata costume.
There was a Rei with a Lance of Longinus walking around, she was great. For a wondergirl, anyway. Then there was this Ikari Gendo. Really wish he had brought a table for the traditional Gendo smirk-stance-thingy. I also so saw one Asuka and oh wow she looked SO GOOD although sadly i only got to see her like twice and both times it was just a glimpse but she still looked totally awesome her hair was like burning red and FUCKING PERFECT what a shame she probably left early since i never got a good look at her and besides on my second glance she seemed quite young so i would not have a dragged her behind a corner and raped her although hope to see her in a few years i'm sure she'll grow up just fine anyway there was a cc kallen and lelouch combo they were just great especially together even if later i saw a much better cc with pizza hut box even and it smelled like new ovenhot pizza for hours i dont know how she did that but sure was wow shame there was like no persona 3 i saw like one AMAZING aegis and then there was an alright aegis and metis or whatever combo they were nice but not as good as the solo aegis oh and then there was the main character guy i think but sadly he fell into the bad cosplay category since all he had was the gun but moving on there was a helluva many haruhis and naruto characters and especially bleach characters since the arrancar and basic shinigami costumes are very easy so yeah no wonder oh oh somebody built wall-e from cardboard that was cool even if not anime and there was a truly amazing fran who had such high heels she needed two of her friends just to go down stairs but goddamn she was PERFECT and i so wished i had a camera furthermore there were people selling art there and most artists were so freaking amazing and expensive but at least i got a few cheap and awesome asuka drawings or well bookmarks but yeah awesome anyway and then there was like anime showings comedy anime plus an auditorium makes an awesome experience i sure do wish they'd show anime in theatres or something oh and finally there was 4chan panel which was many lawls
