Now I hope some of you remember me, as it has been a while since i posted anything of relevance but meh. what can you do when real life intrudes. I have been stopping by from time to time, just to keep up to date on things, but today thought i would make an appearance to say hi, and dig up memories

Anyway, reading through some of these threads, i was wondering what some of you who have been around forever like me remember the best about this place, fondest memories, funnest moments, biggest flamer, ect.

Some of my favorite times were the SG civil wars back in spring of 99, Golbez when he first joined, and how much trouble he was. The SG Mafia days, The numerous Hack attempts. "Quote The Raven" god what a fucktard. Thankfully shutting "girl6" down when she tried to hit on me. the defection of alot of long time members. My rise to a moderator, and my stepping down due to the politics of it all. The whole "linkohio" fiasco.

So, as i said, i just wanted to know what some of your best/worst memories of this place were.

Let's see memories....

I guess a lot of the same. I mean who can forget Raven or those hacks? But what else? Definitely the whole PureMadnezz war was quite fun. Skull and Sexy Dwarve was definitely one of the funniest points in SG history that I can think of...

Also, that story that Fei and John started was great. Remember Elly and news topic. Of course everyone remembers the various pubs (Al's tavern being the one I remember most fondly).

meh... when shaun sold the domain that was pretty much it... The forum has fallen pretty far since then though I don't think it's entirely SGUK's fault. thb Square-Enix hasn't been releasing anything really spectacular, though I know Zell still plays FF:XI every now and then. Come to think of it, FF:XI, with all it's flaws, is probably the best game square has released within the last few years.

I can't think of specific events, but I just remember back in the day when I first joined when there were real discussions on thread topics and everyone actually got excited for new game releases and the anime forum was active. Oh, and spam was actually delt with to a certain extent.

rekki, LoR, LO, Hiei, Rayne, Undine... and a bunch of others I can't recall atm. This used to be a place that you could come to for almost anything... Now it's SpamGamer 2G6.

There are a lot of memories since my posting here and thar started back of mid fall of 99. I remember the times when FF8source/squaresource and SG shared the forums. I remember the days of where grey fox ruled with an iron fist and Neil was an administrator.

For some reason, I remember there being a serious topic or two that actually got seriously replies.

Kage used to be known as Kage Noken and didnt use a

smiley in virtually every post.

Maigraith. I havent talked to evie in a long while. She's probably still hooked on teh WoW.

Remember evapilot? Yeah...he went mia atleast a year ago. That or he changed his Messenger names. I dunno. A lot of people were pissed when squaresource choked on its own spam and lack of posters. It should have died long before it did.

There were the Brad hacks. They were a bit irritating, but good for a laugh...for about 3 seconds. They interrupted my spamming to get a custom rank...3000 posts for a custom rank lol.

Girl6...was scary.

My first screen name, Squall24902, then Trixxterman187, then Etchran Rotall, THen Etchran. Fuck I had some stupid names. The one I have now is stupid too, but its not as stupid.

There's so much more tho.

I know that FunnyMan was the one who started it by posting stupid shit over here. I know trhat instead of FunnyMan, Super Juse was the one who came to SG afterward and posted stupid shit for a fairly substantial stretch of time. I don't remember who the head of the forum was though, as he never posted on SG and seemed only interested in preventing people from SG posting over there. That sounds fairly sensible considering what we were doing over there, but actually he was not very discriminating in what he took offense at. Overall I'd say he was a douchebag, but I don't remember his user name.

Forgot about him. There were a few moments when I thought he was actually suicidal and felt somewhat bad whenever I was bein mean to him, but those moments passed quickly. He was good entertainment though.

I miss the flaming of nubs by TheStrife and others...;_; FF talk that went up to 14 pages of nothingness
