photos&miniatures

Post by Alastair »

it was again such a ridiculously beautiful day
the sun was too bright to be looked at
let alone to be photographed with my crappy camera
but i did take a few photos
these two of which i am happy with
http://koti.mbnet.fi/ltt/bright/40s.jpg
http://koti.mbnet.fi/ltt/bright/45s.jpg

and some while ago i painted some warhammer miniatures
http://koti.mbnet.fi/ltt/figut/
it took some patience, they're about one-and-a-quarter inches tall
what a geek i am :(

I ;like 40s.
I like 45s, but less than 40s.

they r very pretty
if 40s was larger, and the right aspect ratio, i'd use it as a wallpaper

Wow, I have total admiration for the patience you needed to paint those teeny tiny figures! (Nice job using the matchstick for reference. :l) The detail on that one guy is awesome.

And, like Serge, I like both photos but I defintely like the first one (40s) much more. :} The other one is good, but almost cliché. The second one connects small scale (the grass) and large scale (the sun, and the greater unknown!) and just looks so mysteriously/ponderously cool!

That's not necessarily a bad setup, Alastair. It has a good potential and I would personally try and do a silhouette of 40s.jpg. Have a model placed behind the grass and enough to cover about 1/2 of the washed out sunlight. I think that would look great. :D

I actually like 45 a tad more. For some reason I just really like how the tree looks. 40 is great with all the greens. The border really seems to fit it.

Wow. Both of those looked amazing. I love shots playing off the sun like that. Good call. :check
