We need to bring suitcases and those really tiny drag-along luggage type things, the ones you can probably carry but are too lazy to.

I was going to suggest flying business class as well but fuck no, also I doubt EasyJet do any class besides 'shit'.

OK, updated list. Got 9 definite people, and 3 who'll probably come. If we go around the 22nd July then it's 10 for definite. Ant and Ian said they'll come depending on dates, so we're probably looking at 12 people coming altogether.

The place we were looking at going, would people be happy with that if it happens to be available for two weeks, between the 22nd July and 5th August (or later)?

That looks like the date that's gonna be more likely for people to make. As for availability, cost, etc, I dunno. Thoughts plz :P

If we go at this time the flights are a lot more expensive, every single one I've looked at is over £200.

And I don't think that place is available then, I seem to remember him saying it's only available for the 2 weeks in July we looked at and some time in early June but we can look for somewhere else, still got time. I might be wrong about the other place anyway.

But yeah, because of the cost of flights I'd prefer early July but I could probably work something out with money if everyone else wanted to go late July.

Aw crap. I'm such an idiot - end of july kinda doesn't work for me, seeing as my brother's getting married on the 29th and all. So yeah, put me down in the early july camp again...

Stating my one and only preference:
June or July is fine. I don't want to out of the country in August at anytime so if we are going at the end of July then I'll just stay for a week and come home a week early.

Just to say that two weeks also sounds like quite a long time as well. Perhaps we could look to shorten it to about 9 or 10 days. Just a suggestion but if the two weeks fall within June and July then I'm fine with it.

I don't have much of an opinion, but I'd rather keep it to two weeks than shorten it tbh. Pretty much every villa rental charges per week, so we'd just be getting less for our money then anyway.

I've edited the first post, to try and sum up who can/can't make certain times. We need a plan to kidnap Rachel from work for two weeks in early July I think :E

Got some definite prices for that apartment for 12 people in Marbella. Just to give people an idea. Its the one thats really close to the beach, links here anyway:

http://www.marbella-villas-direct.com/i ... 2&lang=eng

It'd be £3200 for the 2 weeks. On top of that theres £300 security deposit that we get back no more than 2 weeks after departure date, we're likely to get this back sinc this is for major damage. Breakage of glasses and chairs (which happened lots last year :P) can be replaced or the equivalent amount paid rather than losing the deposit.

There's also a £100 final cleaning fee which a lot of the places I've looked at seem to have, that'd obviously be less than £10 each though so not too bad.

So half of the £3200 has to be paid 3 days after signing the agreement thing and the other half plus the security deposit has to be paid no later than a month prior to arrival date.

This was just to give people an idea about prices so they can think about it.

Ooh right. So if 12 people go, it's like, £266 each, plus another tenner or so for cleaning. And we need to pay £25 each for the deposit which we should get back.

So it's about £130 each to pay initially for the deposit in that case...

But with the flights people have found, it could work out not costing any more than last year (for the ones flying from Bomo anyway :p). Sounds alright to me.

Anyone got any objections to going there? We just need to work out when, and see if it's available.

Ack, sorry to mess you all around, but it looks like I might not be able to go on holiday after all...

I checked my bank account balance yesterday - I have £460 to survive on until July. Right now I'm afraid I'm going to have to pick being able to eat over going on holiday.

Sorry everyone...

Ppl decide... figure out how best to arrange payment (which we might wanna do soon once we choose where) and I'll cough up my share. As soon as accom is decided I'll sort out my best method of transport, tho I'll happily opt to pay a lil more to travel with a few others over a cheap local flight to me (i.e Southend airport if such a flight exists).

I'll help out with the actual paying as best I can (i.e through my account) if it helps but Im currently not in the situation to stump up entire deposit by myself, so a lil' planning would be required.

Found two! they both seem to have eveything we need and come with our own private pool!

They are for 10 people. but with Ian out and the majority of us wanting early july its looking to be only 10 of us anyway.

edit: £260 per person for two weeks (thats for 10 people unless we can find another?)

Own pool and BBQ in the first one means party gets! :D

Just so you know the first one gets my vote. It's closer to the beach.

We need a yes or no from eveyone asap so we can book.

Dates: 1st of July to 15th of july.

Gets?

I like the first one a lot, the place seems really nice. Has the same balance as Nerja did last year. I'd be up for this one if everyone else was. And the dates sound good too if they suitt most people?

I place my vote on Moraira. Javea looks like more a quiet area with little in the way of nightlife and the beach is 5km away from the place as well which just won't do!

One of the Moraira reviews say that the night life is buzzing around there, as well as having lovely beaches. Also for a more "hectic" night out, benidorm is only half an hour away by taxi.

So all in all, I vote with the first one.

Edit: The dates suit me too, I get back for graduation two days later. Oh joy!

Yeah, the villa looks really nice. I've emailed to ask for details, just to chedk it's not far away for people without a car.

But yeah, I'm fine with it. It's a bit cheaper too. Gets!

Edit: I call an upstairs room. They have AC :P

I'd quite like to go to Benidorm for one night. I went when I was about 15 and it was good then but maybe too 'english' to stay for the full 2 weeks.

And, just for the record in case we do decide on this. I call the twin room :P

Just had an email back:

Dear Joanne
Thank you for your enquiry re renting the villa in July.
You really do need a car. It is about 20/25min on foot to the town centre.
There are buses in Moriara to Benidorm, ext (iv never needed to use then so don't know to much about where you would pick them up.
Not only would it cost you a fortune, but it would cost quite a lot from the airport and back to.
There are 2 restaurants and 2 bars walking distant but most of the main restaurants, beach, clubs ext. are in Moraira. we get Taxies in the evening, But Benidorm is half hour away. hope this helps.

Mrs T Kliford.

Tbh 25 minutes doesn't sound like much, it was that far to a lot of the bars in Nerja. I'd still be fine with it, if everyone else is...

I've emailed back to see if it is available, and how much it would be and stuff anyway. So we can go from there, if we're still interested.

We do specify family's meaning family's and couples.(not single sex groups).

So yes if there are 5 couples this is ok.

Mr Mrs Kilford

I'm in :O (I don't have time to read through the whole thread, so I've read the first page, sorry.)

Anywhere's good for me really, though I agree on the Spain = drinks and cheap accomodation. I'd have to say late July/August would be perfect for me, as I'll (hopefully) have birthday money from the 14th to put towards it. I'm definately in though, now that I'm WORKING :O

Hi guys btw <3

Edit: Just been talking to Jo, and remembered it's Joe's birthday the day before mine. Let's go early July, and have a 2-day party :D:D:D:D
