has it been so long?
Re: has it been so long?
I met Gar and Saboo in 1999 (I'd just transferred to the same high school), and finally registered at SG after hearing them constantly talk about it for a year. (That was June/July 2000.) Then I met everyone else of SGVan, etc etc. I'm not really into videogames or anime so I don't post much; mostly I just read and laugh.

Nope, but I did hear something to the effect that it was computer related. Could be BS though.

Nice try garbo. I don't think Nikon could act like you if he wanted to.
Oh yes, how I wish I could be back at FedEx breaking my back for pennies an hour. Worst job ever. I do apreciate you hooking me up with it when I needed a job badly though.Chronotic wrote:o hi shawn! how's japan? bet you really miss fedex now, don't you?Grey Fox wrote:It's probably BS that he's in Jail too. Now I get paid wads of cash for teaching kids about vegetables, coloring, and playing Jenga!

it's more for me to point out how surreal it is that I have spent half a freaking decade surrounded by this online community. so many things have happened and changed my life because of this. most people neverDamien wrote:Why does this thread pop up every few months? allow themselves to get that involved in something like this and therefore, don't get as much out of it as most of us have. if something were to happen today and i am never online again, and survive to a ripe old age, then i would still look back on this time and feel nostalgic. SG just isn't some website that i've been posting at for awhile, it was a life-changing experience full of friends, memories, love, and hate. call it an artificial social experiment if you will

I found www.ff8web.com or org or whatever shortly after finishing FF7 and looking for the sequel. Didn't join the forums until january, 2000, though.

The London Eye is that massive ferris wheel on the South Bank that thousands of stupid tourists line up to have a ride on every day so they can see the tops of council housing and construction sites for miles and miles.smeared ink wrote:wtf is birmingham eye/london eye
The Birmingham Eye is a tiny fairground ferris wheel in the middle of nowhere.

I remember way back 3 years ago, when I was in first year @ UBC, where I noticed a certain white skinned redhead with glasses. Very geek looking indeed! He was in my English class, and I then noticed him volunteering at the anime club booth so I asked my friend who went to anime club about him and apparently he was the vp or something.
One day some of my fellow english students stayed after class to watch "Othello" in movie form, so I got talking with him and also found out he was taking Japanese!!!
Yes, this is John I'm talking about.
I also found out that he was friends with a tall gentle giant in my own Japanese class called Andrew (Frector). But Andrew > John, so I stopped stalking him and went out with Andrew.
John had squaregamer listed as his homepage, so I checked it out a few times and watched SGTV and such (:D!) and eventually registered spring 2002. It was kinda weird meeting all the SGVan people b/c I already recognized them all from SGTV.
