Kingdom Hearts II

Post by HKK »

This game is going to own. Not only is it going to continue the epic and very interesting story that this series has developed with the inclusion of Chain of Memories, but it looks to me like they've retooled the whole game system.

Look at trailers, the camera is pretty damn good now. And you can do air combos! What's not to like?

The past few days we've recieved a lot of news regarding the game. First off, we have a new trailer! It's pretty boring and doesn't really do anything exciting but it DOES show some interesting things story wise (namely Kairi).

http://www.gamesarefun.com/games/playst ... railer.avi

Here are some images from the new trailers:

Here are some new images in general:

Look at those graphics and animation. Sweet Holee Gravy this game looks fantastic. But that's not it kiddo's! In a recent interview conducted with Testuya Nomura we have found out a number of things:
Here's what's confirmed for worlds so far in printed or published media: Twilight Town, Disney Castle, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Mulan, Aladdin, Nightmare before Christmas.

Nomura confirms the following in a recent interview in this month's Dorimaga:

- Sora's visits to netherworlds will be a core part of the game, Hades' world is the main underworld but many other worlds have netherworlds too

- Pete's involvement in the game is directly related to him being Mickey's rival and he's not limited to any one world

- Mulan will be the first world visited in KH2

- There will be combination attacks that appear on the menu if the distance and timing between characters and enemies is right, one of which is a Sora + Auron attack

- The recording for voices is done during development, so they're doing post-recording to fix things that have changed now

- The recording for each actual Disney world has been completed

- KH2 will conclude the storyline about Sora's involvement with the guys in black coats

- KH2's dialogue script is 2.5 times the size of KH's

- Motion capturing is awesome and every movement is unique

- There will be an awesome variation in combination attacks

- It is undecided if they'll be releasing it on 1 or more DVDs just yet
The KHII official site reports:
KINGDOM HEARTS(R) II

KINGDOM HEARTS II for the PlayStation(R)2 follows Sora, Donald, and Goofy on their continuing quest to find their friends and King Mickey. Haley Joel Osment (Secondhand Lions, The Sixth Sense) reprises his role as the main character Sora and is joined by Ming-Na (ER, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within) who voices Mulan and James Woods (Be Cool) who returns as the villain Hades, along with a slew of soon to be announced celebrity voices. It has been a year since the events of KINGDOM HEARTS CHAIN OF MEMORIES. The story begins in Twilight Town, a quiet burg nestled between night and day. Sora and friends are joined by a vibrant new cast of characters, including the king himself! In the effort to help Mulan and stop the villain Hades' devious plots, they will encounter countless dangers both familiar and brand-new. The release date for KINGDOM HEARTS II will be announced at a later date. This title has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
With all this info we gather a few things:

1. Hades is the main villian this time.
2. If they're already working on the English voices and the Japanese voice acting is already done then that means they're preparing for a possible international release?
3. Even if the point above is not true, this game is definitely coming out in the west this fall.
4. You can have FF characters in your party.
5. Gummi ship travel is back but looking at the trailer it looks pretty bad ass.

This game is number one on my anticipation list, I really can't wait for it. I have a lot of hope for this title and really doubt I will be disappointed.

I can't deny that this games looks very nice visually, but I really hope that this game's release doesn't push FFXII even longer than it already has taken.

The ultimate quip I had w/KH was the difficulty, or complete lack thereof. I hope the sequel has a Super Uber Fuck You In The Face difficulty mode.

I enjoyed the expansive worlds and puzzles, hell I even burned hours of my life building intricate ships. But the bosses need to be tough like Kurt Z. :erm Almost.

I thought the original KH had a nice difficulty first time around. Extreme mode was even better.

I liked the laid-back difficulty, gave it a different feel to other games in the gentre and complimented the nature of the characters and worlds.

I think it's worth playing. The story pretty much owns.

Hollow Bastion was my favorite as well. I hope that in KHII all worlds are atleast the size or twice the size of HB...because in that place I got lost..a lot. That = good.

No, I saw Tarzan at the top of his tree house run off and then I started playing another area and just lost interest because I felt like I'd lost the direction of the game somehow. I'll get back to it, just still enjoying Resident Evil 4 at the moment.
