It's so unfair.
They're probably going to do some stupid shit like having the two of them look at one another at the end of the series, smile, and then look back to whatever the hell's making all the big fuss.
Or leave Ken alone, which is wrong.
WRONG.

Re: Kaleido Star Once Again
Kaleido Star DVD volume 6 came out recently and it ends the first season, as well as the first DVD box. I expect a new box for the second season soon but I'm not looking foward to the double recap on one disc. I seriously hope that ADV decides to place 5 episodes on the first disc to make up for this. Also, ADV had a bit of a consistency issue with this DVD as they kept translating Yuri's fathers name as Arlon Brass but when you see the Production sketches it's translated as Aaron Brass.
The last episode of the first season was a lot better than I last remember and its nice to see a recent contrast between the first season and the second season. After viewing the last DVD I have to admit that the second seasons biggest flaw is what Doom and I discussed before. The fact that the second season shafts the rest of the characters is a drawback and lacks the feel of the original composition piece of the first season.

I swear to god this show is ruining me.
I began watching episode 44 with the bad taste of 43 still in my mouth, because frankly episode 43 just shouldn't have existed. Things got a little cornier, the episode goes on, and then bam, as May's just flying over the kids, and she's just looking down at them, contemplating on her very state of being, I just lost it and gave up. She smiles, and I'm done. I do this with EVERY episode, there's always that one moment that sends me packing, and for the literal life of my sorry ass I simply CAN NOT HELP IT.
I fucking love this show.
Fuck me for being a fanboy.
Fuck me for being so drawn into a god damn show on girls in a circus.
Fuck me for ever randomly downloading the torrent for the first two episodes half a year ago.
Fuck me for sticking with the show.
And fuck me for loving every god damn moment.

Agreed.
In fact I've already deleted 43, there's no way I'm burning that with the rest of the series.
What the hell makes this show any different?
I'm fishin for something.

Why though? I ask myself this question, more than I ask it of you. I mean come on, it was a pretty corny moment, it reeked of pure anime cheese, shit you'd get from a little kids show.Admittedly though, I DID like the thing with May.

Re: Kaleido Star Once Again
I'm going to have rewatch episode 44 and 45 because, for the life of me, I can not remember what those episodes were about. Episode 46 is nearing and I can't wait till you guys see that episode. The pure guts that the show has for pulling that off is admirable.
Re: Kaleido Star Once Again
44 was the car show.
45 was the retelling of Leon's past and the 'True Star' in tune with the Angel's Act.
I'M A BIGGER FANBOI THAN U KILLEY !;O1

I hope all the members of Freedom Rise suddenly get cancer and die so that those subs will never be released and thus I'll never have to watch them !

Christ, if it's such a chore to watch, don't bother watching it at all. The last thing I want to do is talk about the show with a bunch of guys who feel they're practically being forced to watch the show simply because they're mildly (or likely far less then mildly) interested in what's going to happen next.

~*Hai! Back to Japan!
I'm not talking about you joei, why would I insult someone who hasn't even started the show? Relax.
The show's about this gal who joins the circus and the abnormal amounts of shit she has to go through to prove to herself and the vets at the circus that she's got what it takes to be there in the first place.
Sounds corny, and it is, but it works.

Well what the hell is the point if it's just a damn chore to you? What do you, roll your eyes and let out a sigh everytime a new episode's out, trudging your way to the computer to download it?
But hell, if you want to waste your time with simple decent entertainment, be my guest. I'd rather you enjoy yourself otherwise.

Perhaps you should consider how serious the context might have actually been before you go jumping off any cliffs.
Yes OBVIOUSLY I feel totally forced to watch everything because I have absolutely no substantial self-regulation whatsoever.
The only extent to which I'd be "forced" to do something is to fast-forward through the ep just to get it over with. Case in point: Kiddy Grade, which I recently disposed of. I "watched" episodes 5+ (or approximately) at 5x speed (i.e. tapping the right arrow key in Winamp) simply because I didn't think I could tolerate such inanity for 24 entire episodes, and I was right. I won't get into the details of what I think of that show here, but it's safe to say that THAT is what I considered trash and a chore.

Look Doom, I'm not bothering you with this for my own benefit. If something that's meant to be entertaining ends up being a chore to go along with instead, that's pretty much where I stop, little questions asked. The level of quality with said entertainment has obviously degraded to the point where it's not so much that you want more of the story, but that you instead get that negatively enforced nagging feeling of what's going to happen next.
I know you have self regulation (to an extent, you've watched plenty awful, AWFUL shit) but the last thing I'd want anybody to do is push themselves to get into what they just might not want to anymore, or rather, want to get over and be done with.

Re: Kaleido Star Once Again
While I can understand Mikey's reasoning to stop watching an anime if it gets to the point where it's no longer enjoyable to watch I still wouldn't stop watching it if I saw a good portion of the series. If that becomes the case I usually put off the show and only watch small installments of it. However, there are times where I have disliked a series to a large degree but stick with it and they pull something off amazing that it makes me change my opinion of the show. Case in point, Tenshi ni Narumon, at first I could care less for the series but it wasn't until the series neared the end that I started to get addicted to the show. It just pulled off such a large and unpredictable plot twist that you couldn't help but get interested.
I think most people will start changing their minds about Kaleido Star once they see episode 46, and again at episode 50. Even though the episodes between 46 to 50 are still good.

That's the thing, a show should never have to redeem itself. An ending shouldn't have to make up for everything before it. A decent show with a great ending is just an imbalance, not a means of negating decency. It's the same the other way around. A great show with a shitty ending leaves just as bad a taste as a mediocre show with an above average ending.
It's flat out apparent that the second season of KS doesn't live up to the first. Frankly the first has much more going for it, and the second has much more melodrama and some rather moronic filler. So it's easily understandable that watching the second season can be quite bothersome.
I can, and have cut series off near the end. I lose the enjoyment I might have had at the start, or the interest in the characters, so with that I don't care for conclusion. It doesn't fufill or satisfy much anything.
So yeah.
;p
