I've never played this game except I think a bit on ROM. Given how well loved this game is I'm pretty excited. Not excited enough to pay the almost inevitable Nintendo $60 price tag for an old game that was simply given the Secret of Mana treatment.
That's a pretty accurate description of how far I got in Skyrim. Most of the time I wasn't even trying to steal shit. I hate the interface in Western style RPGs.

A Link Between Worlds is actually my 4th favourite Zelda game.
Link’s Awakening is my favourite. I was obsessed with it back in the day and completed it about 4 times, back-to-back. Over the years, more and more people have claimed it’s their favourite, so I always knew it’d eventually be getting remade. I’m not really down with the look of it though, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It’s now my most anticipated game.
Im totally ok with it. I just thought it’s the sort of game that could’ve benefited from a BOTW treatment. Oh well. I’m likely buying it as it was my favourite Zelda until 2G17!
BotW as in huge open world? The map in Link's Awakening isn't all that big. I guess they thought about it, but making it too much like BotW would obviously get people drawing comparisons and viewing it unfavourably as a result. This is more of a release schedule filler than the next AAA system shifter.
Perhaps that's what they'll knock out next. From the comments section on social media, it seems a large portion of the current Nintendo fan base has never played Link's Awakening and doesn't really know much about it.

I very much dount this but I still question whether it wpuld be sensible to do it in BtW form. Seems like remaking it in that form woulsld probably make it lose almost everything that makes it Link's Awakening in the first place.
I still think Ocarina of Time was worse than Phantom Hourglass. I guess Ocarina of Time would be worse if it were the same exact game but you could only use touch controls like on Phantom Hourglass.
I really forced myself to like OoT, mainly because of the hype and the fact I loved the series up until that point so much. I remembered liking it, but not sincerely. It seemed a bit naff, even at the time. Wind Wanker and Breath of the Wild are the only 3D zeldas I think truly match up to the 2D ones (not that they’re all gray though).
I don’t know, I’m asking you. You’re the Canadian guy. All I know about the Canadian video games industry is that Ubisoft Montréal is supposed to be pretty good, and their former director has just been poached by Google.
I'm really looking forward to playing it. Especially after hearing impressions of it and how it feels just like the original. That's all I wanted, the same game but colourful and fresh feeling.
It’s the retailers that set prices. At least here. All Nintendo can do is recommend a price point. I paid £38 (and got a free poster and keychain). For a remake of one of my top 5 favourite games of all time, I think that’s fair.
I actually think I almost got a bit emotional a few minutes into playing when I realised just how true to the original it was.
Canada has had deals on preorders since the late 2Gs during e3, with savings up to 33% depending how many items you preorder. It started with Best Buy but then amazon got into it and BB stopped and now amazon made it only for prime members and later even stopped that, but now Walmart picked up the slack.
I get a better price on switch games than they will likely ever get for a new copy when I preorder
