Apparently they fixed the AC in the office so it wasn't a sauna as expected. I was starting to look at other jobs but it looks like I have a lot of potential hours in the immediate future. Both things can be true though!

Not really. The reason it's basically one day is because unless you get there early you probably won't get a chance to do too much on the first day. Or you could get there early, but that means you were probably traveling REALLY early, so you'll get tired and still won't be able to do much first day. Since you're pretty close in NY, maybe you can avoid that and get a decent two days though, but it's still a long enough drive to take up the morning, surely, and if you fly you have to take out the time to deal with airport nonsense. Basically the number of days is like one less than it actually is, so 1 day is basically just passing through.

If that were the case I would've been calling in every day for 18 months before I quit lol.

So I went in. When I got to the bus stop (4 block walk) I wasn't feeling well. I thought maybe just the heat... or maybe the dodgy milk in my morning coffee. But I had to decide to commit or turn back. So I somehow managed the bus rides on a hot day. Felt so ill for the first 1.5-2 hours while I was there but eventually started feeling better after drinking lots of water and shitting out demons.

Buuuut I'd only had 5 hours sleep over the previous two nights so I was fucking recked. Got nuggies for dins and promptly went to bed. Slept about 10 hours. Yay.
