I was a proponent of my own everyone except the children died theory. Don't say it doesn't make sense. If you say it, you weren't paying attention. There's countless pieces of dialogue in the game that point to such a conclusion. I still prefer it! :frust

Ent- No kidding. I've seen plenty of fanfics that are better than what Advent Children seems to be shaping into.

I'm not sure if "bad" was a modifier so much as an intensifier. :p

Square...PLEASE STOP MAKING FF7 SPINOFFS. Final Fantasy VII was the best game ever made. Please DO NOT spoil that reputation by milking it.

Make the movie and then stop. That's what I think

While I'm not thrilled with all these Spinoff's I'm don't particularly mind that SE is making all of these. At some point in time I'll probably play/watch all of these.

FFVII: AC has a lot of potential and I'm looking foward to its release. The only thing that could ruin FFVII:AC, in my mind, would be the revival of Aeris/Aerith.

Maybe it's the most influential of all of the Final Fantasies, that I could see an argument for, but not the best.. :(

It does have probably the most memorable scene in all of gaming history though. I don't think anyone who has played it could argue that Aerith dieing is probably the most well-recognized single scene in gaming.

Maybe if you count "Your princess is in another castle" :E

Aeris sucks. That scene was hardly the most memorable scene in gaming history. :(

Yes it's one of the most well known scenes but hardly the most memorable.

Yup :check

People have been wailing and screming for a FFVII sequel for years now.
Square can't please everyone.
Anybody that doesn't want to play the new games or watch the movie can just ignore them.

VI and VII are generally tied with FFX-2 in my book, behind VIII, X, and IV respectively.

I don't think anybody should count X-2 in their list. No more than Mystic Quest, Tactics and Crystal Chronicles should be there.

Actually john, people here fucking loved X-2 because it's gameplay was like the funnest shit ever.

But I agree with Damien. To me X-2 is a side game.

X-2 was enjoyable to play through once. Some of the situations and convorsations in the game were done really well. I especially like when YRP go to see Gippal(??? The head of the Machine Faction anyway, whatever his name is) at the Djose temple. How he makes fun of Rikku because they used to go out, hits on Yuna, and reacts to Paine is classic. Maybe it was just his character that was good... :l

All that said though, I don't think I would play through it again. Not for a loooooooong time anyway.

Yeah, X-2 was probably a one playthrough game, but it was definately enjoyable thanks to moments like that. :)

VII is still probably my favorite, and yes, I have played all the ones before and after it. VI probably comes a close second. IV was the first I ever played though.

I have played every Final Fantasy from the main series. I have not BEAT all of them, but I have played them.

The ones I have beaten are IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X. I'm not bothering with I-III or V because I think they suck.

And VII is still my favorite FF.

But amazingly enough, thanks to Doom, VIII has actually risen in ranks. THANK YOU DOOM! :love

Its worth it to play the first three at some point. They aren't as caveman style as you may expect. As an added bonus, knowing what you know now from later FF games, each one should only take you about 10 hours to beat.

You would be amazed at how many things have stayed the same, even from FFI. So many of the enemy designs and spells are exactly the same even now.

I only played I and II in thier Origins remakes. Probably would have never played them otherwise. I have tried III, but never got too far into it.

I think it took me about 12 hours to beat FFI in normal mode, so yeah, not a long game. Worth playing at least once.

FF V is clearly the worst game ever. I could barely finish it once, I never want to play it again. How they could include that trash instead of III, which is actually decent..

Gilgamesh and his theme song were the only good parts of that game, really.

That and the sheer lameness of the endboss being a friggin tree.
