Would you rather be with someone rock your socks can't believe they are not a mirage hot, with the intelligence of a toaster? Or someone with every single physical pet peeve imaginable, with the mind only your soul mate could have?

I have to be honest. If I'm choosing between the two, I take the toaster brain. It's that whole, "dating a celebrity," aesthetic value.
And let' all be honest, no matter how great someone is, if you can't hold down the lunch, it's not happening.

But I guess they both are novelties, kinda need a little of both to make anything last past a point. I so know people are gonna disagree with me on this one. :erm

By every single physical pet peeve imaginable, do you mean the ugliest person alive?
I'm not shallow, but I wouldn't be able to handle this extreme.

Gladly, things come in moderation, and one isn't required to play on such a black and white scale.

Fortunately for me I really like toast, so I pick the first option as she sounds like she has it all.

The RDM would have to reject them both, being spoken for and all.

That and extremely dumb people make him want to break things, and he's a bit too shallow to deal with the inumanly ugly.

Oh well.

Pretty much, I pillowed up the description to hold into account some ugly mofos are considered hot by some people and vice versa. So yeah, the ugliest person in your opinion.

Think about this way, if you don't answer you'll die. That always gets my gears going.

But what if you put the hot person's brain into the ugly person's body by accident? Then what will you do? And let me tell you competent hit men are surprisingly expensive.

I've been thinking about the question and it occurred to me that with regards to "the intelligence of a toaster" the most famous toaster I can think of is "talkie toaster" from red dwarf. That was a pretty smart toaster, it managed to navigate a ship through a black hole at one point if I recall correctly.

The first option was the obvious winner all along though wasn't it? From a guy's point of view at least, although I'm definitely generalising and may be generalising wrongly, so from my point of view and I'd assume most other males is probably a more diplomatic way of putting it.
What I mean is that a lack of intelligence isn't always regarded completely negatively when exhibited in a female (particularly an attractive one). Often when talking with a girl and they say something ridiculous which shows that they have a complete lack of understanding of a situation it's actually rather endearing and seems quite cute and sweet. The same exhibition of ignorance from a guy does not seem so sweet, to me at least. I might still be ammused, but it's less of a "aw, that's ammusing" and more "haha, what a fucking muppet".
Not that I'm saying I dislike intellegence in a woman, far from it, but an explaination of some scientific concept is rarely cute no matter who says it.
I'm wondering if this works the other way round for the girls here? Do you find it cute when a guy fails to understand something? I doubt it somehow, ignorance in a guy is not an attractive feature.

Polar extremes for the lose. :sadpanda

By "be with," do you mean enter a mutual exclusive more-than-friendly relationship, or just hang out?

If it is the former, then it depends how annoying the pretty person is. If they are not annoying in their stupidity, I'd choose that one (and tell them to STFU), else I'd choose celibacy. And if I still had to choose one, I'd choose murder. There is a certain minimum prerequisite of both physical attractiveness and intelligence&personality (neither of which are low) for me in that respect, if it is to be a more-than-friendly relationship.

If it is the latter though, then I'd choose the latter person. Interesting > Pretty in thast respect.
Bazz wrote:Not that I'm saying I dislike intellegence in a woman, far from it, but an explaination of some scientific concept is rarely cute no matter who says it.
Unless it is from Entr0pi3, clearly XD
Besides, intelligent people are often[*] clever enough to know when a scientific explanation of something is not appropriate. For me social skillz is part and parcel of intelligence, regardless of academic grades and shit.

[*] But not always for sure. Especially academics, many of whom seem to lack social skills on a practically autistic scale.

Yeah, it starts at an early age I think, you need to find a balance between socialising and studying. I pretty much went 90% on the social side, as in if I could do the work without having to expend any time or effort learning it then I'd do it, if not I'd decide that it was more important to have fun. On the flip side I'd imagine the hardcore academics (the beardy jumper wearers) willing to socialise providing it takes place somewhere they would be anyway but not willing to expend any effort pursuing it. Those are the awkward ones who look like a rabbit in the headlights when asked to give a brief talk about a subject which they inside out to a bunch of freshers who're still amazed that there's no register.

Anyway what I meant about the cuteness thing is that a ditsy blonde girl saying she thinks Lionel Blair did a good job a prime minister would be amusing and would not count against her really. The same comment from some hefty navvy would not be received in the same way.
Women, know your limits!

To certain degrees I do agree with you. I think it's kinda cute and refreshing to have to explain to a guy something he should know, (mind you this is stereotypical) like science, math, video games, basketball. But the whole dumb blonde, absolutely no common sense deal is totally unattractive and gets a :boom expression from me everytime. So I guess I'm not as extreme as some guys can be.

And I think people are losing the idea of what I meant. The ugly one has the best personality/hobbies/mind, and is completely mentally compatible to you, this does not instantly mean super genius. The hottie is the most sexually attractive human being you can imagine. There's a balance. And com'on this isn't a friends with benefits deal. You have to make due with the setbacks of either the ugly or pretty one in a relationship. Otherwise people would just tap the hot one, and never answer their calls.

Super genius, no (hell, I'd feel inadequate). Intelligent (however this is defined) is an absolute prerequisite for me nowadays (and has been for many years). Approximately as smart as me (or smarter, even?) is desirable, too. That's just me, though (and says quite a bit about me, I guess :o).
Bazz wrote:willing to socialise providing it takes place somewhere they would be anyway
Well, many of them do not. I've known people who are totally socially awkward, and would go out of their way to avoid other people.

Socially awkward is a good thing, the rest of the world just doesn't see it yet.

The RDM thinks there should be a third option: almost as attractive as the hotty, almost as mentally perfect as the fugly, but ridiculously emo. Like cryin about popsicles emo. As long as were keeping things at extremes.
