Haha Drag-on Dragoon 2, Luke has to come to SGWH to review it with us again :l

Anyway, Squeenix... I'm not really part of the haters club yet as I haven't really played any of their PS2 games, but yeah, I agree the re-release of old games are more exciting than new releases... And I haven't bought any of those oldies on GBA, DS, etc., so.... :erm

Tbh I have to say I'm pretty indifferent to most of what Squeenix does nowadays (I want to play DQ8 though, just don't have enough time right now), I will definitely check big titles but will probably dislike most of them... I still hope that the new Mana game will be awesome though :}

Anyway, who needs square when you can just play loads of great Konami games? :love Oh and hopefully Mystwalker won't suck too much... :}

Mystwalker automatically sucks already for choosing XBox. Like I'm really going to cough uo 400 bucks for a console, especially one for which they would be making the only decent RPGs (if those even are decent).

They already are worse than Capcom. Capcom, even at the height of it's milking agenda, never concentrated on only one series. Even if they released 1 billion Street Fighters they still had tons of other shit to fall back on. Square Enix, currently, does not.

Who trusts anything Square say?
They're a company trying to make lots of money and if they one day think that another Final Fantasy X will make some money, they'll make another Final Fantasy X.
It's not as if they're held to promise or anything.

Sorry HKK but Capcom releases a new MegaMan game every few months for years! Even Squeenix hasn't reached that level of milking, though at the rate they're going it's only a matter of time before they do...

You didn't understand my point did you? Even if Capcom releases a new Megaman every few months, that's not the only type of games they make. With Square Enix pretty much the only they make is something with Final Fantasy's name in it.

FFXIII Targets Advent Children
Square Enix aims to make CG battles a reality; plans 2007 playable debut.
by Anoop Gantayat
<A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://ad.doubleclick.net/click%3Bh=v6| ... gt;<IMG SRC="http://m.2mdn.net/1030813/06YR_BACKUP_300x250.jpg" BORDER=0></A>

June 6, 2006 - While the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children DVD was met with mixed reviews, most gave props to the movie's intense battle sequences. From Tifa's church encounter to Cloud facing off against Sephiroth, the footage at times looked like the ultimate video game cut-scene. The only thing missing was a controller.

With Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix is hoping to bring that experience into the player's hands. In an interview published at Japan's Dengeki Online game site, FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama stated, "FFXIII attempts to see how far it's possible to make FFVII Advent Children's battles into a game. FFVII Advent Children is a video production, and it showed us battles that have not been achievable in FF so far. With FFXIII, we're focusing on how far we can realize the video."

As expected, we're going to have to wait a bit to control FFXIII. Toriyama revealed to Dengeki that his team is working on making a playable build of FFXIII in time for next year's E3. Presumably, this means that the Tokyo Game Show and the December Jump Festa, both typically strong shows for Square Enix, won't offer hands-on time.

Not if the FMVs are like Xenosaga cut scenes. I'd rather not see inane conversations at dinner and boring trips to the beach plz. Also, ther better be plenty of text! :frust Also, no voices unless they are as good as Arshtat plz.

FF7: AV only looked cool. The story was crappy, FF7 never needed such an expansion. And it most certainly is not a stand alone movie, someone who never played FF7 would have no damn clue what the hell was going on.

I would have preferred them to remake the entire original game of FF7 into a full, most likely multiple 3 hour part movie. But of course they wouldn't have given it the time it needed, they would cram all of FF7 into like 90 minutes and that is all.

Movie making is definately not their strong point, despite how sweet the graphics seem to be.

I also don't really understand why SE wasn't the ones that wanted to do Xenosaga. Namco took it over and made it totally different then Xenogears. It's like SE went 'oh, we won't make any money from it anyway, here you guys can mess it up for us'.

-,-

A high quality xenogears / FF6 / FF7 re-release please. I would pay full price for those again.

I think u'r all being far too critical of square-enix, you focus too much on the fact that they are makin ff7 spinoff's and multiple FF13's and oversee the quality they've produced in the past and the quality of some of their upcoming games (i.e. FF12, VP2:Silmeria). Sure those multiple FF's are cash scam idea's but they need those in order to have the financial backing to be confident enough to start fresh new projects that are potentially risky investments. If you want to see some awesome new projects let square-enix get rich off of final fantasy and they will eventually churn out some masterpieces.

With square and enix together it would be awesome to see another hybrid game between the two company's like when CT was made by the best developers from the 2 companies. I still remain confident in SE, i think they've got some really good games comin along, FF12 and VP2: Silmeria specifically. In the mean-time i'm enjoyin DQ8 which is made by who other than square-enix. I suggest to keep a little faith in the 2 company's that made you love RPG's.

P.S. What ever happened to Code Age Commanders??

What evidence have any except those who have played FF12 that it's of the quality you claim or which we should demand of it. One good game every few years in addition to a bunch of garbage they inundate us with in between isn't worthy of placing Square Enix above criticism, especially not when it used to be so much better, back when it was just Square.

You, that epoch was still way better because then, only half of their games sucked (if not less), compared to almost 100% of them now.
