Square Gamer RPG - new release, new thread!

It'll still be awhile, but I have been working pretty much non stop since I started.

I'm being such a pointless detail whore.
I spent pretty much all of yesterday just working on the sprite graphics for just one screen.

Stuff I'm 100% positive no one will care ever about it being there, but little imperfections drive me nuts.

(right now I'm going to be working on the second playable character's battle sprites while I wait for possible help from qmark.)

If the face graphics and the cut scenes dont work out so well. I'll try not to let it ruin the game making for me.

About 85% of the mess-that-is is "placeholder" stuff that I merely declared "good enough".

Unless something is obviously and very bungled, don't freakin worry about it.

It's my nature to obsess

but when you see the game
the first 2-3 screens if you know how much time doing a lot of minor stuff in rpgmaker takes (which im sure you do) they'll probably elicit a "jesus christ" if you have a keen eye.

We all know it will, but nobody knows when.

Most of my devtime is chewed up ripping/formatting/editing graphics, meaning if I could find a decent forest chipset (instead of trying to rip one from Romancing SaGa 3) I wouldn't be ass-dragging as much.

Hell, I'm really really interested in what Asa is up to, especially after tossing together one of the facesets for that project.

rpgmaker pisses me off as an artist.

I dont like having to have the quality of my art reduced.
I already have to put up with that a lot because I use flash instead of photoshop over the last few years.

The fact that I basically have no experience with photoshop is really coming back to bite me in the ass right now.

Might be put on meds (hopefully)

If they work, I might vanish again to go do the things my mental disorder prevents me from doing.

Or if I stick around, they'll help me get even more done faster on sgrpg.

We'll see how it goes.

I'll try not to completely vanish this time at least.

I finished 2 more screens today by the way.
I'll release a demo if I complete the first story arc.(which isnt anytime soon)

thanks, but that chipset looks like you'd have to be walking diagonally all the time which sounds annoying, but hey I may find a way to get soem use out of it...like mimicing the textures or something.

I want to get a little poll here of everyone's hair color...or any other blatant physical characteristic I should know before making their/your character design.

If you have a clear picture in one of the SG albums. You dont need to worry about this. I'll just get what you look like from that.

Also and perhaps more important:

What are the defining avatars of the memorable members that no longer post here?

like for example...what was the RDM's avatar?
