I just gotta say...
Even though it was known, Christopher Lee does a completely badass job at voicing his character. <3 I love that man.
Sephiroth is great. David Boreanez, if he is back for Leon...sounds like shit. I think Mr Boreanez had a couple vocal cords ripped out or something. o_O
Tifa sounds fine. Cid = hillbilly to the max = hilarious.
Aerith...Aerith is BAD. Mena Suvari has NO emotion in her voice. It's...just really awful. >_>
Hm...forgetting anyone...
I'm going to assume people know who the Organization members are.
The ones we've heard so far...
-Axel (voiced by Raiden of MGS2 X3) is awesome. Yay, Axel.
-Saix = evil sounding. Yeehaw
-Xigbar = total surfer-dude. It's hilarious. I love him now.
Hm...that's all.
Anyway...yep. More KH2-ness before the release. IN TEN DAYS. *hysterics*

My heart's a battleground~
wanna know the identity of who Fumanchu is voicing? :>
I can imagine some of the characters sounding pretty good, but as far as I'm concerned, the organization members + Diz have just been voiced to perfection in the japanese version. As good as Chris Lee is, he just won't come close to sounding as cool as his character in Japanese.

Well, if you have to listen to it so much, it could at least be half decent.
I wish we in the days when a graphic was a graphic, and not a polygon with shading, lighting and mapping...
My course is confusing the hell out of me, and taxonomoy is my most hated word of the week.

Holy @ English intro. o_O
Song was good, like the lyrics and stuff...and then came the upbeat part with "My heart's a battle ground".
You know how the line before is "hitoshirezu"?
The line in English is "So many ups and downs" ...reversed for some reason, and it kinda sounds like she just...vomited on the mic or something. o_o Or, maybe not vomited, but they held up a turkey and it went "GOBBLE GARBLE!"

SEE?!
Passion was better than Small of Two Pieces (Oh noes. >_>) in my opinion, but the turkey singing in Sanctuary brings it doooown. :<

MY CAPITALISED COMMENT WAS A GENERALISED COMMENT TO ALL AMERICANS WHO BOUGHT THE GAME AND NOT SOLELY DIRECTED AT YOU SEPHIRA, APOLOGIES FOR ANY MISCONCEPTIONS
Not that there'll be much of a difference between the Jap and US release really.
When's the PAL release again? After SGRPG?

Maybe, but I think it's quite substantial. Poor voice acting can completely ruin a scene that would work well with no voices. Yes, you can mute, but it's a pain and it means missing out on music, so that no matter what it diminishes the experience if the voice acting is not good. I think instead game makers rate having voice acting too important these days. My opinion is, unless you can make absolutely sure that you're going to do it right, don't have voice acting.Damien wrote:People rate voice acting too highly as a factor in videogames nowdays.

*cries nerd tears of happiness* I love KH2.
EDIT: Now that I'm back from work, I'll give a real first impression.
Of course, it's very biased, as I want to marry this game, so... >_>
Anyway. Starts off, great opening with the turkey line.
Some stuff with Roxas dreaming.
Most of the beginning of the game is very straight forward. It's a tutorial, little games, things like this. You collect munny (I collected 100 of my 800 to put into the kids' pot.
), deliver letters, things like that. You start fighting a little ways in, and are introduced to reaction commands, which are awesome. <3
Anyway, you know most of this.
Voice impressions: Everyone is very good, other than the clip of Aerith that played. I was mad. >_>
And David Boreanez hasn't returned, sadly. I haven't heard the new Leon talk, but from the trailer I saw with him, it wasn't very good.
The guy who I believe has taken over Billy Zane's roll does a fairly good job impersonating him. Obviously, Billy Zane has a pretty distinct voice, and while you can tell it's not Zane, it's still fairly accurate.
Last note: Axel is fucking awesome.
Back to play!

Is it as easy as the reviews have indicated?Sephira wrote:*cries nerd tears of happiness* I love KH2.
Seriously? I could've sworn I saw his name on a list of returning voice actors for the game...Sephira wrote:And David Boreanez hasn't returned, sadly. I haven't heard the new Leon talk, but from the trailer I saw with him, it wasn't very good.

No but if you want to see the super duper ending you need to complete all of jimmy crickets journal entries on normal. If you beat it on proud mode you get the movie automatically.
Also based on all the reviews for this game I heard normal and easy we're too easy so I chose proud. Hasnt been any hard moments yet(minus one in herc's world).

I wouldn't say it's THAT easy. The reviews are like "Holy shit, you can leave your controller on the table and leave the room and come back and everything is dead, it's that easy!"
I'm on Normal mode at the moment, and I've had a couple near death situations.
I just finished Beast's Castle and I'm on to Herc. Tomorrow. So weaaaary. >_>
And, yeah, Pen, it seems he hasn't returned. o_O Or, so a list of voice actors I found says. In any case, the first line apparently was a dud. The guy playing Leon is still good.
Aerith....Oh Aerith.
Oh yeah. I love love love reaction commands.
Some of them are so freaking cool.

IGN gave dragon quest 8, a game where u literally do just mash the X button for your 4 party members to attack for 50% of the battles, a 9.0. The storyline in dragon quest was pretty lame overall too, kingdom hearts II i'm only at the first save spot but the story has already intrigued me. I think gamespot's review is probably the most accurate.

Reaction commands are an awesome addition to the combat system too
RPG's aren't about edge of your seat intense action either, its more about the storyline and experience. If you want an action-packed, throw your controller across the room difficult game play some devil may cry 3 (or DMC1) and see if you can become King-of-Hell

Idiots. How can you make up for giving a bad game a high score by giving lower scores to better games? The only way to make up for it at all is to change the score and then not screw up again.Doom wrote:I think IGN's still trying to make up for the 9.9 they gave Jade Empire.
