Between Xenogears making top 20 and no FPS's you've just proven to me that they have much better taste then we do.

VP, SoM, CT and FF:T also making the list is just icing on the cake... :love

Only a Square Enix dick rider would say such a thing. The fact is, lack of variety. 3 non Japanese games, like 50% of the list is Square alone..you can tell Japanese gamers are jaded as fuck. Worse than American fans too.

As opposed to here where I'm sure we'd see Halo, Quake, Doom, Def Jam, Madden, a few WW2 shooters and some version of WWF...

Instead of %50 Squeenix it'd be %50 EA. Sorry man but FPS's and sports games just aren't my cup of tea, I'd take the Japanese list over our own anytime.

That'd be the best SG competition ever! "Win Famitsu's Top 100 games!"

I wish Xenogears was higher up :{

It's kind of interesting to see the huge culture gap here. Regardless of their questionable taste, I'd love to live in a society where videogames were as prevalaint as coka-cola. It must be such a trip to have that level of marketing and fan response for videogaming. I can't believe how well the DS is doing over there. Makes me kind of jealous seeing as I'd love to actually be able to use mine!

Though, FFX at the top = :x

And I'm disappointed Vagrant Story isn't on there. :sadlove Considering it is one of the "perfect" games of Famitsu, as well. :sadlove

20. Streetfighter II (1992)

WTF? I'm pretty nostalgic, but World Warrior is NOT better than Championship Edition or Hyper Fighting.

Yes, you do need to play (or, at least have seen) a game to critique it, but then again you weren't actually critiquing it - just putting it down with no real reasons why (which people do indeed do all the time).

Fuck, why the fuck should I play games I know I'll hate to make sure I'll hate it? WTF.....

It's like saying you Japanophile FPS haters need to play all of them to bash FPS, which you would never do. But then, when we do the same with a quirky japanese game that no one could possibly enjoy unless they are japanese (or like to pretend they are) - OH TEH NOES WE R MAKING UNFOUNDED CRITIQUE.

Bull fucking shit.

PS: Madden sucks.

You have no idea what games I like, tbh.

It is nothing like saying an FPS hater has to play every single FPS evAer before bashing them. It is the same as saying they should play e.g. Half Life 2 before bashing that particular game. Japfag FPS haters should play (or find out about) a game before saying how much it sucks, or should just shut the fuck up. What is the point of expressing a totally uninformed opinion? You don't even have to play a game to know you'll hate it, but you do need to actually know *something* about it, otherwise you are just talking crap.

Yeah right, Goldeneye for the N64 is the best. In fact it's the only FPS that I've picked up more then once, and even then it was only because of the multiplayer.

Personnally the Tokimeki Memorial games are not appealing to me at all, but that's only because they forgot to include a lesbian French girl option :ruroken

If you hate the Square Enix bias, you'd hate mine even more. The top 6 would all be Final Fantasy. :p Also, I'm sure the top 10 would all be (pure) Square.

Edit.: Oops. that's a lie. That was only true until Suikoden 2, which definitely beats out even some FF.

everyone go play riddick. best fps of all time.
Yeah right, Goldeneye for the N64 is the best. In fact it's the only FPS that I've picked up more then once, and even then it was only because of the multiplayer.

Proximity mine's in the facility owns!
The best FPS ever is most definitely not console exclusive (or Halo). Deus Ex wins.

Nah. Deus Ex is more like a FPS/RPG Hybrid, that you can get for the ps2 (shitty port). It's a 2000 game, and if my laptop can run it decently, your pc probably can. :p

I have two copies of the game, because they gave it away with PC Gamer once~

System Shock predated alot of FPSs, coming out in 1994 and all.
Doesn't change Deus Ex's greatness. ^_^

I have System Shock 2 on a CD somewhere, always meant to play it. :( Bioshock (successor made by a Looking Glass spin-off) looks bowntastic.

But isn't system shock like, the originator of rpg fusion with fps style gameplay? It seems to me Deus Ex is just something straight outta System Shock, hence the comparison.

Counterstrike owns you all with its crack syringes it stabs in you every day if you play it.

I deleted that off my computer when steam came out...because I would play it for hours on end sometimes, and own everyone.

But yeah I've lost alot of hope in japanese market as of late, especially Square, which was my sole reason to support playstation products.

Japanese list is shit.

That Gamefaq list is good, but where the fuck is Master of Orion?

Deus Ex should be higher.

Bio Shock will own all of you, even if you don't play it.

You don't know it, but System Shock 2 owned all of you already.

I'll be back in America is less then 50 days.

Later fuckers.
