any Pantera fans?
There has to be some Pantera fans here. Even if you don't listen to them you gotta know and respect what they did for american heavy metal.

Dimebag Darrel shot dead at a Damage Plan show in Ohio. I'm kinda speechless right now, I guess there's a slight chance that this could be fake, but it seems to be pretty real seeing as I have friends from Ohio saying they're seeing it on the news. Doesn't really matter if you like them or not, but they get my respect for being so big and never "selling out".

Dimebag wrote some whicked ass riffs.. totally down about this. Name another band that never got major media coverage or toned down their sound to reach more people, that sold out arena shows.. or that everyone knows atleast ONE song by..

I heard about it this morning, a local radiostation was interviewing a man who was actually there. The man apparently would of shot much more people if they didn't shoot him. He killed an audience member too I think. Also, Dimebag I believe, was shot once in the arm, then he came up behind him and shot him multiple times.
Does anyone even know why? Personal vendetta or just some crazed obsessedfan/anti-fan?

There's a lot of witnesses saying that the shooter was saying things like "you broke up pantera".. but really a motive is up in the air.
There's an interview with Phil Anselmo that's out this month and on the cover of the mag it's in there's a quote from him that says something like "dimebag should be beaten severely". I bet he's eating those words now.

Two audience members were killed, at least that's what I read today.fire2ash wrote:I heard about it this morning, a local radiostation was interviewing a man who was actually there.
