I haven't been feeling anything from Green Day for quite some time. Their last album, Warning (I believe) was complete shit and I threw my copy in the trash. Their new album titled "American Idiot" seems to be a bit of a cross between their old style and their style in Warning, and it's a much better balance. This is definately a more mature Green Day than Dookie.
The first song on the CD, American Idiot is a great, catchy upbeat song that reminds me of old school Green Day. Great way to start off the CD. This is followed up by "Jesus of Suburbia" which is 9:08 in length.

Very different than most Green Day stuff but it's a great song that just flows perfectly. The rest of the CD changes up almost every song. About every second song or so is fast and the others are a bit slower, but it all seems to work well as a package. I find I can listen to the whole CD through and enjoy every song.
I think Jesus of Suburbia is my favorite song on the whole album, it's really a great song. has anyone else picked this up/download this? It's interesting to see the path this band has taken in the ten years since Dookie came out. I know hardly anyone who DOESN'T own the Dookie album. Even here in Japan, Green Day is still one of the biggest bands there is. If you ask someone if they have the Dookie CD, they know what you're talking about. Discuss.
